Fujifilm X-T2 4K Video

According to French photography website focus-numerique, the Fujifilm X-T2 will include 4K. The interview taken during CP+ also notes that the X-Pro2 is capable of 4K via a firmware update. Tip: visit the page with Chrome and it’ll translate the French to English.

We feel we have to distinguish each specificity of our devices. Each of our aircraft has a character and somehow addresses a particular type of photographers for a type of use. The devices of the X-Pro are primarily cameras. We asked users of the X-Pro 1 if they used it for video and 80% of them said no. By cons, of course, you can make high quality videos FHD with the X-Pro 2. But according to our studies users do not expect 4K feature on the X-Pro 2. Technically, we could add this feature with a firmware update but we do not plan to do so in the future. We will integrate the 4K video in the next models of the T series

True…and for the still shooting we do, 4K isn’t a priority, really just a feature on a list. Like everyone else, we’re waiting for our X-Pro 2. It just start shipping from Amazon for $1699.00.
