History of the Fujinon Lens

While today’s X-Series Fuji camera uses it’s own modern X-series lenses, Fuji has been making high-quality glass for decades. Collectors and photographers have long known the power and quality of Fuji glass. In this trio of videos on the history of the Fujinon lens from Fujifilm, the company shows the history of the lenses and the manufacturing process, starting with the first optics created in 1938.

It’s an amazing look at a long legacy of brilliant lenses that have lead to today’s optics. If it weren’t for the 1950’s Fujinon Speed Trio there wouldn’t be a Fujifilm XF 16mm f/1.4 R WR.

Many of those that have adopted the modern Fuji platform have done so because of the incredible optics, and those optics are thanks to more than seventy-five years of careful design and improvement.

The trio of videos is a must-watch for any modern Fuji shooter, or anyone with a love of vintage camera equipment.
